2026 Kansas Spring Turkey Season & Permit Info

Youth & Disabled Season (Apr 1 – Apr 14, 2026) – One bearded turkey per permit.

Archery‑Only Season (Apr 6 – Apr 14, 2026) – Recurve or compound bows and crossbows only; hunting from 30 minutes before sunrise to sunset; one bearded turkey per permit.

Regular (Firearm/Archery) Season (Apr 15 – May 31, 2026) – Shotguns (sizes 2‑9) or any bow or crossbow; one bearded turkey per permit. Residents may purchase permits for Units 1, 2, 3, 5, & 6 over the counter (Unit 4 via lottery). Non‑residents must enter a lottery for all units.

Permit Details – No second turkey game tags in 2026; each permit allows only one turkey; all non‑resident permits are lottery-only.

Hunter Education Requirements

Anyone born on or after January 1, 1949 must have a hunter education card or certificate before applying for or purchasing any hunting license. Please obtain this training well in advance or you will not be able to hunt in Colorado.

Appropriate certification from other states will be honored for hunter safety training. Your card or certificate is adequate proof. Previous hunting licenses are not acceptable substitutes. Bring card or certification with you!
